I am a sucker for dogs. A co-worker's daughter just moved into a new home and her landlord asked her to get rid of her pet of four years. I volunteered to take him in. I am now the owner of a Pug named Bruce.

He is good natured little fellow and I hope he gets along with my other canine friends.

We are looking for a home to purchase here in Lafayette. Seems a lot of older homes (built in the 1960's and 1970's) have secondary structures in the backyard. The one we are most impressed with and may try to purchase has a nice 400 square foot building that will make a fine game room or party room. I hope to muster the finances together to make an offer pretty soon.

Christmas week is upon us. I am looking forward to going to Tennessee to see my wife and children.

Day One

Well my venture into the bloggers' world! As I post I hope you will enjoy my trials and tribulations of living La Vie Dansante here in heart of Acadiana - Lafayette, Louisiana.

A little about me: I am closing out my fifth decade on this planet. I relocated to south Louisiana earlier this year after five and half years in middle Tennessee and living the previous twenty years in Texas - both Houston and Dallas. I am married to my best friend, Mary Beth. We have two very wonderful children, Andy and Katie. Both are attending college. Andy is an aspiring pre-med student at Ole Miss. He will be graduating this coming spring and hopes to either attend medical school or take a year to study abroad compliments of the William J. Fulbright Scholarship Committee. Katie will be graduating from Columbia State this December and wants to continue her studies at a local college in the Nashville area as an education major.

I love dogs as evidenced by my tribe of mutts - Sadie, an eleven year old Springer Spaniel mix; Kaydee, a seven year old Brittany, and Mickie, Sadie's puppy who was fathered by a very large Labrador Retriever. My babies as I like to call them.
